Bowle me Over!

Who doesn't love the incredibly stylish, and fun loving Hamish Bowles?
His new place in NYC featured in this month's Vogue Living Australia definitely reflects his vibrant personality with marshmallow pink walls, amazing fabrics, priceless artwork and a gamut of bright colours.
Its the home of someone who undoubtedly loves design in all forms and is unafraid to embrace a mish mash of styles, tying it all together with that effervescent zest for life.

Unmistakably maximalist, its a house that I could imagine spending hours in examining every single nook and cranny, running my fingers over all the different textures, feasting my eyes on the treasured drawings and quirky sketches adorning the walls. I bet he would have a hilarious or touching story for almost every item in his charming abode too! A true example of surrounding yourself with only things that you truly love.

Oh and did you notice the cascading waterfall of silk ties in every eye popping shade imaginable? What a wonderful life indeed!

Spring in my Step...

Lyell never disappoints with another dreamy photoshoot for their early spring 2010 collection. With their watercolour backdrops and doe eyed models, their lookbook is always a joy to peruse. What a welcome way to usher in spring!

The Lady Guinevere

The unbelievably lovely, porcelain skinned Guinevere van Seenus is captured by Tim Walker and Javier Vallhonrat in Vogue Italia & Vogue UK in two spreads that are mysteriously romantic with an impish dose of humour and a rainbow of colours to inspire good cheer. Portraying a blooming beauty and a sparkly dancer, she photographs mesmerisingly and leads you down the garden path into a world of imagination and light, full of wonder and a liberal sprinkling of glittery fairydust. Aren't you tempted to follow?

Parisian charm via New York

Interior designer Paula Caravelli, one half of design team Paula + Martha has created a charming space with European flair in her upper east side abode. I have to confess, I fell hard for this place as soon as I saw it! Just like the french, this apartment conveys that signature effortless style. No obvious design trends, nothing loud or pretentious. The atmosphere spells serene elegance with timeless touches and a neutral background accented by perfect pops of colour. If this apartment was a person, it would undoubtedly be the quintessential parisian girl clothed in essential black and smoky greys, an Hermès scarf insouciantly knotted around her swan-like neck. Et voila, instant je ne sais quoi.

Vintage spoon chairs unbelievably found at a Salvation Army thrift shop flank a brass cocktail table by Gerald Bland.

Vintage vases in colours of a swirled sunset are displayed magnificently atop a neoclassical Italian commode. A painting by Caravelli’s uncle pulls everything together and highlights a corner in the home that might easily have been overlooked.

Dolce Love

Dolce & Gabbana show us their interpretation of workwear. Definitely femme fetale, can anybody see asking your bosses for a raise in these pieces? I love everything though, its just a beautiful collection. Perhaps because its made up of colours that I'm naturally drawn to but I think you'll agree that this showcase was faultless. Gorgeous knits, delicate lace, strong black suits and deep red velvet.
Everything my wardrobe wants. Also, the make-up is presentation perfect. It'll attract attention better than any tiresome powerpoint!
