Have you ever fallen in love with an object? I do, all the time. I harbour huge crushes on chairs - right now, the Swan chair and a Bertoia diamond are fighting it out at the top of my lust list. In a tussle between interiors and fashion, I would never be able to unwaveringly pick one.
I love interiors that have a quiet nesting quality. While striking coats of paint do catch my eye, cream coloured walls suit me best. I like being able to think, to dream, to breathe. This appartment has the essentials. A big, inviting workspace, simple shelves for a ton of books, a tiny yet stylish bath, a dining nook for slow mornings or a pot of green tea in the late afternoon and pure white sheets to snuggle under after a tiring day. Bliss.

Rubbed all over
Have you ever gone for a massage and walked away from it afterward feeling like you just got out of a car crash? I was involved in a crash in Paris last year when a car literally slammed into me when I was on my bike. Funny thing was I walked away from that incident in considerably less pain than the hour and a half massage I had this weekend!
On the previous occasions when I've had massages {at a different place of course}, I floated out of the room feeling absolutely heavenly. This time, I decided to try something new after hearing a recommendation. Never mind relaxing, it was torture in the most medieval sense! Two days later and I'm still moving around gingerly since I throb all over. I don't really know what the moral of the story is though except, never cheat on a good massuese??

Friday's Child
Already looking forward to my tea and dim sum date tomorrow. There's something about the beautifully decorated surroundings, intricate chinoiserie tapestry, dark wood panelling and hushed tunes from a chinese gu zheng that makes me think of smoky asian movies. More than a meal, going out for dim sum is an overall experience. There's nothing nicer than spending a lazy saturday afternoon sipping fragrant tea and indulging in delicous food paired with easy conversation. Tonight, I'll be painting my nails with Estee lauder's enchanted garnet, a deep glossy red that will be just perfect for manuevering dainty parcels of food with my imperfect chopstick skills!
