Splash it like a Water Baby
I'm a procrastinating perfectionist. No, I'm not talking about a bikini body, I'm talking about deadlines! Although, you may say that the former could very well apply. What this means is that everytime I'm obligated to put pen to paper, I leave it to the last millisecond. In Fashion terminology, this would be like burning that Diptyque Figuier till it's time to hold your make-up brushes. You understand.
Nevertheless, break times call for a slip of neon, frill, stripes and prints. For those who already own too many swimsuits and can't help collecting more, add these to your inspiration folder.
Happy Weekend!

Hot and Humid
Do you feel like escaping to a tropical locale? Right now, I feel ready for balmy weather and powder fine sand that I can sink my feet into, warm from absorbing the heat from the sun. Prada sunglasses, a straw hat and a gossamer light dress that would wrap around dewy skin like a silky cocoon. It does a body good to bask a little, absorb only the sensations from the moisture drenched air. Nothing but lipgloss and curling tendrils. I have a plan but its weeks yet, nevermind I'll finally get there.

Stella McCartney - L'Heure Bleue
Stella McCartney's Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear show with the sea of vivid blue was simply stunning. It makes you want to tumble out onto the famously grey Parisien streets in search of that powerful, electric shade that would change your life. While the collection was not fully monochromatic as the artist Yves Klein's eleven identical blue canvases, I dare say the visual impact achieved from using that brilliant blue as a central component proved to be a huge success. Comparisons aside, I never thought an impeccably tailored blue suit would top my list of practical yet immensely beautiful things to be added to the wardrobe. It's statement making, fashion forward and sharp enough for a bright and early presentation. What more do you need?

Lolita et Isabel Marant
There's nothing better to wear in warm weather than a lightweight cotton broderie anglaise dress. Be it Isabel Marant or Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti or Malene Birger, the little white dress is a necessary blank canvas to which you can add any accoutrements you fancy. A dainty gold chain and strappy flats or a chunky Marni necklace, colourful bangles and cork wedge sandals. Wear multiple silver necklaces and rings with tough biker boots or go the country route with a floppy sun hat and cowboy boots. My ultimate accessory however has to be one of these Olympia Le-Tan hand embroidered clutches and the equally quirky Kate Spade versions. Nerds and fashionable folk have finally found a common ground in these updated versions of the classics! Literature was my favourite subject in school and now my bookish inner self can finally tote these covetable clutches around with joy.
