Alexander McQueen's Legacy

The unbelievably sad news of Alexander McQueen's death prompted a look back at his incredible work that has enthralled the fashion world and would no doubt continue to be considered as works of art in their own right. As with many a genius mind, the clothes that came down the runway often reflected his current thoughts, inspirations and obsessions that could swing from one impressive end to another spanning the length of a collection to the next.
From poetic beauty to moody glamour, from whimsical prettiness to downright fury, dark mysteriousness to the outright bizarre, his work encompasses an entire range of emotions that make each collection an exciting, breathtaking spectacle. Drawing gasps in reaction to the splendidly exquisite or the shockingly harsh, McQueen never did anything halfheartedly.
Every show was a full spectacle where his painstaking hardwork and dedicated toil was always evident from the complex awe-inspiring pieces. With themes ranging from movies, to history, to nature, from his travels or even his family's origins, Alexander McQueen always offered a real treat and an uninhibited delight to the senses. What would fashion do now without its much beloved enfant terrible?
