Everything is Fresh after the Rain

Amazing day! Lots of bright sunshine, giddy laughter and good old fun. Really needs to happen more often I think.
In other news, I've recently become obsessed with trying new skincare and makeup products. Organic ones especially because they feel so fresh and light and also smell so good. Anything that makes the skin glow from within while looking like you have no product on is a definite winner. I like a clean face. Touch of highlighter, soft pink blush in a natural hue that can also be rubbed onto lips and nothing heavy on the eyes. The barest wisp of perfume that evokes the scent of meadows after a bout of rain, and then out the door.

Journey to Shanghai on the Louis Vuitton Steam Train...

Train journeys evoke romance and the spirit of adventure, it is simply an accepted fact unless you're a student travelling on a budget and are forced to sit with your bagpack in the luggage section while enduring a neverending ride from one European city to another. But still, looking back I'm sure you'll say it was a marvellous adventure no matter how sore your rump must have felt by the time you disembarked. The Louis Vuitton luxury experience captures only the beauty of train travel with none of the indignity. Passengers dressed in the most exquisite finery travel from Paris to Shanghai while the setting sun colours the wild landscape beyond. Everyone seems to be travelling light. No signature trunks, instead multiple highly covetable leather luggages are carefully carried by prompt porters wearing white gloves. Who will they meet once arriving at the infamous Bund? What will life be like in this foreign city? The story is yours to pen.

Mondays are for Hide & Seek

Aren't there days where we wish we could hide under a big banana leaf? Today's not one of them. I found a brilliant recipe for fluffy banana bread in the beautiful Miette cookbook and decided that it was just what the doctor ordered for curing any Monday ails. As it is, one is sitting comfortably in the oven right now, scenting the air with delicious banana bread perfume. I'm going to try and resist since I did make it for breakfast after all but a late night snack is not improbable!

Happiness is a fizzy drink

A million and one things rushing through my head this week. My mantra for the moment is that Happiness is fleeting, hold on to it and Make it last a little while longer...

And I don't mean this in a negative way at all. I liken it to the vitamin C tablets that you drop into a bottle of water and let it fizz brightly, exuberantly, loudly, until it stops.

Catch that moment, watch excitedly, listen to the crackle and pop before it all settles down again.

Also, a bright orange crush dress and a jazzy dance is a sure pick me up for the moments in life that are less than razzle dazzle. Have a great week!
