On a beach in Portugal

What could be more divine? A tucked away 'secret' beach and a place in the sun. I was reminded of the recent Miss Universe competition when Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana posed a question on Nude Beaches and its appropriateness. Who cares when the view from top of these candy striped and sherbet coloured swimsuits present such a charmingly pretty picture. Like twizzle sticks and lemon drops in a fabulous sweet shop. 'Covered up' definitely looks more appealing than 'uncovered'. Nude beaches I have to say, (from personal experience, bien sur) are not nearly as conducive to people watching. After all we do know that even if curiosity doesn't kill the cat, it might very well blind you!

So much and yet so little. Leave it to the Sartorialist to capture such graceful, magnetic shots. The pictures project such personality and powerful sense of style without even revealing the subject's faces. Undoubtedly, a strong dose of confidence and a toned back do beautiful pictures make.

Floating like a feather & I'm feeling fine...

After a particularly tough week and almost 7000 words typed in the name of research and advancement, its nice to leave everything and just float. I'm going to put my feet up and sip some ice cold coffee. Treat myself to a slice of sugary, buttery toast and watch Up In The Air. Anna Kendrick is stunning. Its the beginning of the week and I'm going to take a break. Yes, I am.

Picture Perfect couture

Somedays don't you wish you had a costume party to attend?
Or a couture dress to slip on for that matter. Indulge in such fanciful notions as traipsing into a forest complete with silk, satin and chiffon, whispery layers and light as air feathers. Its the headgear that truly captures my attention in these pictures though. I don't know if I like that cheeky pink Peter Pan-esque hat best or the dark blue ball of fluff that reminds me of a cross between a porcupine and a sea urchin. I could definitely see it perched firmly on the weathered head of a stylish tribal chief though!

Just COS

Sharp cheekbones plus great lighting equals magic. The broodingly reflective quality accentuated by a black and white finish. I've always admired the relative ease of men when it comes to dressing up. Turning out an impeccable image seems to require less fuss. Superb tailoring and classic pieces will stand you in good stead. If I were a guy, I would have all formal and evening wear by Tom Ford and suits for work made by Thom Browne. Casual attire would require nothing more than well-worn jeans and white or grey crew neck t shirts. An essential leather jacket and soft knits -preferably in black or navy and thats it. Oh, shoes are a whole different category.
