Bottega Black Out

The Spring collections are sometimes not by favourite, especially when overly bright colours dominate. Pops of fushia, cyan, tangerine, chartreuse, ochre, lime, vermilion make me dizzy. Admittedly, primary colours aren't my thing either. Thus Bottega Veneta's Spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection was a breath of fresh air, my fresh air. Like roaming a circus grounds of unrelenting swirling pigments and finally entering the dark, cool tent filled with mystery and anticipation. Compared to the celebration of spring by adopting all shades of the flowers, this was a sexy, glamourous translation. Cirque du Soleil's KÀ versus Saltimbanco. The loose fitting shapes and breezy materials still a nod to the season.

Multi purpose clothes, these garments could take you from beach to boardroom to the bar in high style. And those Bottega woven bags? I've never much given them a second look but now in that midnight matt black, I've definitely fallen. Hard.

Bloomin' Good Time!

The weekend starts early for me this week! I'm so excited to be heading for a short getaway Down Under, its been awhile since I last set foot in Australia! The last time I was there I did the Sydney bridge climb which was truly exhilarating not to mention stunningly beautiful. What heart stopping, adrenaline pumping misadventures will I get into this time I wonder? Also the always popular Marriage of Figaro is on at Sydney's iconic Opera house, its an experience I'm still debating since tickets go at a serious premium. Nevertheless, its Springtime there so with good food and good fun its going to be a Blooming good time!
See you soon!

Painterly visage

6 beautiful women as captured by the supremely talented Tali.
A recent graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design, Tali often paints introspective portraits of stunning friends in graceful poses. Her work always captures the thoughts of her subjects, the life behind their eyes, a kind of joy that speaks about that specific moment recorded in strokes of vivid colour. Her little shop on etsy, tush tush makes portraits for those who love art and want a terrific representation of anyone special. Trust me, I wanted to keep it a secret so badly but Tali is just too fantastic not to share!

Sur la Plage

With Monaco still on my mind, I found these idyllic photographs of vacationers by the sea that make me yearn to zip myself there with a snap of the fingers! This quiet little spot couldn't be more charming and the multi-toned aquamarine colours of the sea is irresistable. Who wants to join me for a mid week escape and frolicking good fun?

Girl about town

"Aujourd'hui comme tous les jours mon style est plutôt androgyne." Nobody mixes confident masculine style with absolute feminine grace like Vanessa Traina. With that lanky frame, glowing skin and the ability to always wear the clothes (but never lets it wear her), she possesses that undeniable air that practically screams Fashion! Flitting from show to show, acting as designers' muse and the occasional model for lookbooks, she is perpetually photographed with an enviably assured manner.
A thoroughly modern icon and true girl about town.

PS: Have you watched the french film L’arnacoeur {Heartbreaker}? Its a romantic comedy but only of the best kind! Starring Vanessa Paradis and Romain Duris, it takes you on a hilarious and dizzyingly fantastic spin through picturesque Monaco. It was so much fun and never more perfect for a weekend!

A lavish cure

I have apartments on my mind again. Sometimes a girl just needs lavishness. When the week feels stark and bleached, a good dose of headying extravagance is an excellent cure. A space filled with plush seating, thick carpeting, alluring pieces of furniture and surroundings that make you feel as pampered as a movie star. Rooms that are as much of a 'getaway destination' as they are an all embracing cocoon. These more than fulfill any expectations...
