A stroll through Versailles

The still fountains on a misty morning. You can almost feel the coolness of the early air and perhaps hear un oiseau sing from a distance. All is peaceful and the serene calm takes you back centuries when the aristocrats alone enjoyed this magnificent view of the gardens at the palace of versailles.

The king and queen in a private moment on their balcony.

Exquisitely well kept topiarys lined up in a neat row.

Exuberant flowers in a myriad of vivid colours spring up in wild abandon.

A carriage arrives at the doorstep after a mysterious masked ball and a night of merry making.

Sunshine showcases the full splendour of les jardins du château de Versailles.

Grand crystal chandeliers bounces light of the now empty corridors. What stories they would tell if only the walls had voices.

et Marie's sweetly floral bedchamber.

  1. Versailles is a pretty amazing place. Once visited it, along with the chateaux around Tours and Blois. Nice work. I came across your blog while “blog surfing” using the Next Blog button on the blue Nav Bar located at the top of my blogger.com site. I frequently just travel around looking for other blogs which exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people express themselves. Thanks for sharing.
