This charming painting on ebay would have made a perfect mother's day present. I meant to place my bid but unfortunately missed the deadline. It was done in 1960, a 'vintage still life' painting on canvas.
I do remember watching designer Anya Hindmarch demonstrate a similar arrangement for a centrepiece on Martha Stewart. It was really quite striking, fresh and lovely with the milkglass cakestands. I'd like to try that someday.
Another quirky thing I found was this book on Amazon UK. Can't help thinking it would make for an interesting read or an unexpected gift at a dinner party.Doesn't the title alone capture your imagination? It made me smile.
